8/04: Updated: Pic of Prize added below...

Happy Aloha Friday Crafters!!!

It's challenge week #2!!! Here we are challenging all of you to be inspired by this Craft Magazine cover. Check out the project on here, and then create off of it. Simply put - I've chosen a magazine page/cover, and you are to create using this page to inspire your creativity (off of the card shown in the photo). Here are some of the following things that you can case off of this page:

  • Card layout

  • Colors

  • Embossing

  • Circles

  • Size of the card
And The question of the week: What is the main ingredient of the Filipino dish, Banana Lumpia?!

Ok, so here is what the SSH Design Team came up with...

Hi Everyone! Here is my take on this fun challenge. I really liked the colors on the card Jen chose so I turned to SU's new In Colors which I absolutely love! The colors I used were Whisper White, Bermuda Bay, Rich Razzleberry, Melon Mambo and Chocolate Chip. I embossed the Bermuda Bay with a CB folder and rounded the edges. I distressed the top edge of the Melon Mambo layer with my scissors then drew faux stitching along the top and bottom edges. The Ribbon is SU's Bermuda Bay, the flowers (edged with Stickles) are All Natural Accents which Jen sells at Little C's and my cute little image is from Dandelion Designs which you can also find at Little C's. Sorry about the photo, I had to use my phone to take this picture since my Cyber-Shot has finally gone Ka-Put!

I can't wait to see what you all create! Have fun!

I really enjoyed this challenge especially with all the bright and great colors. The DP is from DCWV Glitter Flower Dots which I got it from J 's Knicknacks. The image I use to create this card is Catnip from Dandelion Designs and she's carrying a dandelion I added Stickles on it. I use my copics to color this image. The emboss is from Cuttlebug Spots & Dots. I just love the different sizes of the circles. Last thing I did was added ribbon, flower buttons, clear dew drops, and of course All Natural Accents flowers.

Aloha all and Happy Aloha Friday. I have got to say, that I enjoyed working this challenge. Not only were the layout and the details great but, the colors, omgosh they are the prettiest combo. Which is why I chose to pick some of the colors off this inspirational photo and create with it.

Here, I created this accordian style bag/purse as a gift holder. My 11 y/o needed something to put her little bags of trinkets in, that she will be giving to one of her girlfriends. How perfect will this purse fit, the occasion. I was so inspired by the waaaaay beautiful ones Maria had created, that I wanted to take a try at it. Of course I geared it toward the younger age.

Purse Details:
Stamp: "Always Here" by Penny Black (Little C's)
Paper: "Blossom" kit by Three Bugs...(Little C's)
Ink: SU! markers
Accessories: ribbons, stickles, designer brad, scallop & circle punches, oval nesties, CB Dots folder.

This challenge was so cool! I had a ball, this paper from Basic Grey was just perfect for this project. I wanted to keep it simple and plain, but it needed some oomph. I added "Bling" to liven it up a little. You can find these blings at LittleC's. I used a coaster from some beer brand and covered it with paper. I then added post it notes and added a clip to hold the paper pad at it can also function as a loop to hand this on the wall. I had such a great time with this. Thanks for stopping by and have a great weekend.

Well, here is my take on this challenge.... I love the colors used on the challenge card, and I loved the size of the card. So I went with a long card. The image is a CC Designs stamp which will soon be available at Little C's. All flowers are from All Natural Accents.
